This dance film is inspired by a young Melbourne-based Chinese woman named Sophia. She grew up in Mainland China when the persecution of Falun Dafa began and as a result her mother was thrown into prison for practicing. When her mother was taken, 8 year-old Sophia wrote on a wall in her home-town with chalk ‘Falun Dafa is Good’ as a way of resistance. Years later when she returned to China to visit, the chalk had not washed off and the words remained.

Co-Directed with Melbourne Artist Kimberly Summer
